Do you or someone you know have a child aged 3-7 in your life? Do you worry about how to help young children stay safe without making them anxious?
Join us and our puppet friends for this lively, fun Familypower Starting Strong Workshop – online this coming Sunday from 10-11am PT.
Here is what parents and caregivers have to say:
“My four-year-old loved the puppets and the Safety Signals – and we both learned A LOT!”
“I have so much more peace of mind knowing how to teach my young kids what to say and do to stay safe everywhere they go.”
Register Now! During the workshop, your child and you will learn and practice essential safety skills like:
- Checking First before changing the plan
- Protecting Your Feelings from hurtful words
- Speaking UP clearly and respectfully
- Getting Help from busy adults
- Yelling and Running to get away from trouble
It will be important for you to stay WITH your child the whole workshop so you can learn and practice the safety rules and skills together. This will create a common language so you can keep coaching using Kidpower skills in daily life, just as you do with other important skills, such as washing your hands.
As always, scholarships are available if needed.
This workshop is appropriate for children ages 3-7 who are comfortable learning in an online format, with support from their adults who are present with them.
After participating in the workshop, you will get additional resources you can use to keep practicing with your child – as well as a link to view and download a digital copy of our Earliest Teachable Moment book, which provides a guide for how to protect young children – and teach them how to take charge of their safety.
If you can’t make it to this Community Workshop and are interested, we can help you to organize your own workshop for family and friends, or your day care, parents’ group, or school. We also have Parentpower and other Familypower workshops on topics such as sexual abuse prevention, bullying, stranger safety, online safety, and self defense skills.
Other upcoming workshops include:
Familypower: Boundary Skills for ages 7-12 with their adults Saturday, May 17, 10-11am PT
Familypower: Online Safety for ages 9-14 with their adults Sunday, June 22, 10-11am PT
