Athena’s Advanced Academy creates an inspiring learning environment with dynamic, interactive online courses with live weekly webinars for gifted and talented students, including 2e.
We help parents educate their gifted children so they can nurture their child’s development to the highest potential. Dedicated, passionate educators support and encourage Athena’s students to develop their talents and grow into confident, proficient lifelong learners.
Little Trends Boutique
Little Trends Boutique carries a variety of clothing, accessories, shoes and toys specifically for children, made or sold by small, women-owned businesses, mainly in the United States.
We are two sisters-in-law who love shopping for our littles and wanted to create a site where anyone can shop for littles and support women-owned, small businesses while doing so.
Positive Discipline Community Resources
The Positive Discipline Parenting and Classroom Management models are aimed at developing mutually respectful relationships. Positive Discipline teaches adults to employ kindness and firmness at the same time, and is neither punitive nor permissive.
The tools and concepts of Positive Discipline include:
-Mutual respect. Adults model firmness by respecting themselves and the needs of the situation, and kindness by respecting the needs of the child.
-Identifying the belief behind the behavior. Effective discipline recognizes the reasons.
-Kids do what they do and works to change those beliefs, rather than merely attempting to change behavior.
-Effective communication and problem solving skills.
-Discipline that teaches (and is neither permissive nor punitive) and guides.
-Focusing on solutions instead of punishment.
-Encouragement (instead of praise). Encouragement notices effort and improvement, not just success, and builds long-term self-esteem and empowerment.

Positive Discipline Community Resources is a social change nonprofit that supports adults in creating healthy and thriving relationships with youth in homes, schools, and communities. Through the Positive Discipline approach, we teach a model of respectful communication and joint decision-making. Research shows that when adults have more of these skills and tools, and most importantly they MODEL these skills and tools, we see more successful outcomes with young people.
