Picture a mix of explorations in nature with brainy STEM challenges, fabulous field trips, and games galore! Campers will nurture friendships and unlock hidden talents and even surprise themselves with newfound skills. Get ready—this is where summer magic unfolds. Here are some example of our on-site activities:

    Play football at Mustang Stadium or kick it on the incredible soccer fields.

    Swim and splash around with friends in a cool, refreshing pool.
  • Outdoor Adventures
    Explore the nature trails, perfect for scenic hikes,  that connect to the ponds and school facilities.
  • Natural Beauty
    Enjoy the majestic views at four ponds located right on the school grounds.
  • Unique Access
    Study and research the water to learn more about the ponds and the wildlife there.

And what would camp be without field trips?

You don’t even have to know! With so many local options to choose from, campers get to switch it up on the regular.

La Madrona Athletic Club and Youth Sports Camps

La Madrona all day, summer, youth, sports camps, including pool guards, are offered for ten weeks during the summer season.

La Madrona Athletic Club is located in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains and remains a premier club for health and wellness, balancing a gorgeous facility with a family friendly environment. La Madrona offers year around high level instructional tennis, pickleball and swimming.

The Sports Camp is an outdoor camp that will provide children the opportunity to develop their sport skills, self confidence and self esteem.

Sport camp is a high level instruction based outdoor camp that will provide children the opportunity to develop their sport skills, self confidence and self esteem. The sport camp is for ages 6-10 years old. Groups will be limited to 8 campers.

A typical day for Sports Camp:

  • Tennis lesson (60 minutes)
  • Athletic & sports games
  • Tennis play & court fun
  • Pool games (45 minutes)
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Registration Packet

Summer Pool Guards Camp - Two week sessions- 9-12pm

The La Madrona Pool Guards Program will introduce children to the skills necessary for lifeguarding and aquatics safety. This two week program offers activities such as swim lessons, rescue skills practice, paddle board practice, stretching and strength building exercises along with team building games and fun. Participants will be divided into two groups of 12 based on age and ability. Ages* 6-12 are welcome. All participants must be able to swim one pool length of freestyle, have the ability to float on their back and tread water for 30 seconds. This is a great opportunity to advance in your water safety skills and become a better swimmer for life!

A typical day for Pool Guards:

  • Warm up/exercise and stretching
  • Swim lesson (30-45 minutes)
  • Snack break and sunscreen re-application
  • Paddle board and rescue skills practice

  • Tennis Camp is an exciting week of quality tennis instruction

High Performance Tennis Academy

  • Ideal for the competitive player looking to improve their overall game
  • Main qualification is a strong desire and motivation to play tennis.

Art Studio 95003 - Designed to introduce various media to participants, build drawing and painting skills, and instill a life-long love for creating art. Science Exploration - Are you looking for a fun time this summer? Have you ever wanted to launch a rocket? Are you curious about how our muscles work, or the difference between acids and bases? Would you like to hike in a creek? You could do all this and more at this NEW science camp, which has a fun, hands-on science focus. We’ll also enjoy active games everyday.

La Selva Beach Summer Camp - Register your 6-12 year old child for a fun-filled summer of games, arts; crafts, sports, cooking, field trips, and SUMMER ADVENTURE TRIPS! Participants will be divided into groups for age-appropriate activities. The staff to child ratio is 1:14 or less on site and 1:8 for field trips.

Zombie Camp - You will learn how to protect yourself and your fellow villagers from zombies with essential stealth and survival skills. The Santa Cruz Kids in Nature Program is an outdoor-based Nature Club for young children. We are a grass-roots program focused on fostering creativity, confidence, communication skills, community, ecological stewardship, curiosity, and social justice ethics and advocacy in the students. Our core curriculums revolve around Social Emotional Learning, Natural History, and Cultural History/Social Justice.

Common activities include: hiking, improv games, watercoloring, harvesting wild clay and making pottery, learning to identify wild plants and medicines, playing games, practicing storytelling, gathering seeds, developing deep relationships, learning local history, and more!

The After-School groups take place over the course of the school year and run outside of school hours.
