Athena Camps is a vibrant, girl-powered summer day camp based in Silicon Valley, created to help girls grow strong, brave, joyful, and confident. Founded in 2011 by former professional tennis player and coach Aby Ryan, Athena Camps was born from her desire to create a place where girls could feel supported, celebrated, and free to explore who they are—through movement, creativity, and community.
Since opening its doors, Athena Camps has empowered more than 13,000 girls across its Bay Area locations. Each week blends athletic play, creative art themes, hands-on skill-building, and meaningful “circle time” conversations that strengthen communication, friendship, and resilience. Girls leave camp with new skills but more importantly, with body confidence and the tools necessary to embrace their authentic voice.
Athena Camps features an all-female team trained in youth development, small staff-to-camper ratios, and full accreditation from the American Camp Association. Families choose Athena for its unique combination of sports, arts, mentorship, and its unwavering commitment to creating a positive, inspiring space where girls feel truly seen.
