Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza

Sunday, April 14, 10am-4pm

The Vive Oaxaca Guelaguetza is an authentic cultural festival with food, music, dance, and crafts presented each spring by Senderos.

This local festival is like the traditional fiestas celebrated each summer in Oaxaca, Mexico. Guelaguetza is a Zapotec word that means “a commitment of sharing and cooperation.”

Guelaguetza is a celebration that honors the gods for sufficient rainfall and a bountiful harvest.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Oaxaca at the upcoming Guelaguetza Festival for a day filled with celebration, music, dance, and delicious food. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a taste of Oaxaca right here in Santa Cruz!
ADMISSION: $10.00 per person; children under 5 admitted free.
PROGRAM: Gates and booths open at 10:00am. Cultural dance and music program from 11am-3pm. Procession of musicians and dancers around the field at 11am.
PERFORMERS: Enjoy performances by Centeotl Danza y Baile and Maqueso Music from Los Angeles.
PARKING: Limited free parking available at the Masonic Temple next door. Additional parking at the public lot on Soquel Avenue and street parking in the neighborhood. Handicap parking available in the school parking lot off Benito Avenue.
