Ukele Club Jam

The Ukulele Club will gather for music and fun on Thursday September 16, 2021 at the Food Lounge, 1001 Center St, in downtown Santa Cruz. We will be meeting outdoors, in the back courtyard. The food lounge will have both drinks, and a food vendor selling food to go.

Dear Santa Cruz Ukers,
Having attended “car week” last month down in Monterey, I started thinking of popular songs about automobiles. I came up with quite a few, most notably car songs from the discography of The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. Hence, our September meeting will feature 8 singalongs that celebrate the automobile and American Hot Rod culture. To help us get in the rock ‘n roll groove, the singalongs will feature ace guitarist Dan Toft on leads with Pat Tracy on bass!
Our Thursday, September 16th meeting will start at 5:30 with this month’s opening band: Simon & Dave. We’ll sing our theme song, Under the Boardwalk, around 6:45, then launch into our automotive singalongs. So, rev up your ride and get yourself down to the Food Lounge.
