The Santa Cruz Children’s Museum of Discovery Teddy Bear Vaccination Clinics aim to demystify the vaccination process for kids and caregivers on more of a one-on-one basis by providing the opportunity for children to explore the process of a vaccination visit without any threat of a vaccination for themselves. Children learn through play–especially play that lets them imagine themselves in certain roles and positions and practice thinking through the situation in a low-stakes situation.
Children bring their own stuffed animal or borrow one from the children’s museum and visit a series of stations at the MOD pop-up clinic.
