The 2nd Annual Strawberry Jam 1K/5K Fun Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, August 5, at Ramsay Park in Watsonville. The races start and finish at Ramsay. The Strawberry Jam Fun Run is presented by the Friends of Watsonville Parks and Community Services and the Rotary Club of Freedom in conjunction with the Watsonville Strawberry Festival.
This is a moderate hilly, fun course that starts and ends at Ramsay Park and traverses Watsonville’s famous sloughs with an out and back section on Ohlone Parkway. No dogs, but families and strollers are welcome. Register on Active.com or on day of race. Races will be coordinated by the Santa Cruz Track Club.
Check-in on race day begins at 6:45am at Ramsay Park parking lot. The Kids 1K Fun Run/Walk begins promptly at 7:45am. *Parents are welcome to join and guide their kids through the 1K run. The 5k Fun Run/Walk will follow for those of ages 12+ starting at 8am. There will be portable restrooms and water stations available on day of race. Look out for designated guides who will be stationed at different points throughout the race to ensure the designated course is easy to follow.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of each 5-year age group
Divisions: 5K: 5-year age groups, starting with 4 and under thru 95 and over; 1K Run: 0-2, 3-4, & 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 & 10-12.
