ThinkBig: AI & Me for students in grades 8 through college
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education (Santa Cruz COE) is pleased to announce a Spring 2024 Thinkbig opportunity for students across the county to showcase their creativity and innovation through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Students in grade 8 through college are invited to use AI tools to assist them to build a creative work such as art, music, a story, or poetry, with an emphasis on harnessing the tools to supercharge their own unique style or voice
Students, Educators, Industry Partners and Community Members! Mark your calendars for April 11th from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM! We’re jumping into the future with an event called “ThinkBig: AI & Me.” It’s happening at two community locations in Watsonville and Santa Cruz.
We’re going to dive deep into how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing our lives right now and what it might mean for our future.
This event is perfect for anyone – whether you’re super into tech, just starting to get curious about AI, or anywhere in between.
The Big AI Challenge:
- We’re having a student contest “How Artificial Intelligence Changes Our World and Our Future.”
- Open to grades 8–12 and college students
- It’s all about showing off how AI is part of your day-to-day life
- Whether you’re into coding, art, music, writing, cooking, poetry, robotics, or experiments, this is your moment to shine by showing how AI is cool in your world!
- You can submit anything that shows off how AI impacts different parts of your life
Hands-On Fun:
- Besides the contest, there will be workshops and demos where you can actually play with AI technology.
- It’s a chance to see up close how AI stuff works and maybe even try it out yourself.
- There will be panels with AI experts who’ll talk about what’s happening in the AI world right now, the tricky questions around it, and what we might see in the future.
- It’s a great opportunity to learn and ask questions.
