Every year, Sea Otter Awareness Week takes place during the last full week of September to celebrate and inspire deeper awareness of these marine mammals. The week is sponsored by Defenders of Wildlife, Sea Otter Savvy, and the California Department of Parks and Recreation.

Daily dose of otter goodness

- Narrated sessions: 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. PT
Tune in daily during Sea Otter Awareness Week to see our exhibit otters playing, grooming, snoozing, and eating. You can even catch live feeding and training sessions, where our Animal Care staff trains our otters to be active participants in their healthcare, or enrichment sessions, where we provide puzzles and challenges that enrich the lives of our feisty and inquisitive otters.
