Schools and the AI Dilemma: A CalMatters online event
Thursday, June 26 from 12 – 12:30pm
The California State Library and Pacific Library Partnership are pleased to invite you and your library community to the next CalMatters online event: “Schools and the AI Dilemma”
Overview
With every wave of new technology comes both benefits and challenges. AI is no exception—and schools are particularly vulnerable.
Educators face pressures to adapt to the technology quickly, while balancing the dangers that can come with it. While policymakers grapple with how, or even whether, to regulate AI, teachers and students are already using it as a tool and a crutch.
Join Education Reporter Tara García Mathewson and Deputy Editor Denise Zapata for a discussion of the risks and benefits of using AI in schools and how it is being regulated.
Please register here.
See the attached pdf to print out and promote the event to your patrons.
Please also check out the new companion online resources about AI and Schools on CalMatters for Learning, a package of materials supported by the California State Library to help library staff, patrons, educators and organizers bring important issues to their communities.
This project is supported in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
This is an online event.
