Teens! Join us to explore avenues for writing poems.
Are you a teen who is interested in writing poetry? Did you know that you could become the next Youth Poet Laureate? Whether you want to find out more about how you could become the next Santa Cruz County Youth Poet Laureate or if you just want to write poetry, this program is for you! Join us for this Youth Poet Laureate Workshop!
Today’s workshop will focus on this workshop will focus on generative poetry writing.
Explore avenues for writing poems. Work with Santa Cruz County Poet Laureate, Farnaz Fatemi, to develop drafts of new poems from exercises and prompts. No prior experience with writing poetry required.
- All Youth Poet Laureate workshops are from 4-5pm.
- Any County resident ages 13-18 can participate in any or all workshops.
- Workshops are led by award-winning poets
- Open to teens 13-18 years old
- No poetry experience necessary
- This workshop series celebrates our inaugural Santa Cruz County Youth Poet Laureate Program, now through spring 2024!
