Fashion Teens

A Program for Social & Environmental Youth Activists

For 14 years, FashionTeens has been bringing teenagers from across Santa Cruz County together for a fabulous, fashion runway evening.

After working for months, students with a passion for fashion and creativity design, source, create, construct and showcase their own unique piece of fashion art.

With a focus on the environment and the impact we have on it, the creations are made from recycled or repurposed items giving new value to what otherwise would end up in our landfill.

By literally taking fashion into their own hands, students express their creativity, gain design and engineering skills, explore complex social issues, experience creative problem-solving, gain confidence and learn valuable life skills.

After all their hard work, there is nothing more rewarding than the excited, beaming faces of these teenagers as they walk the runway in front of cheering crowds.
