Tips from the Exploratorium
Here’s what you need to have:
Eclipse glasses and safe viewing devices (pinhole images with colanders and pegboards are highly recommended!).
Plenty of water and snacks for the several hours you’ll be outside
Sunblock, because even though the moon will block out a lot of light, you still need to protect your skin
Lounge chairs, pillows, and a picnic blanket for ultimate comfort
An umbrella…because in October, it just might rain
The Exploratorium Solar Eclipse app to enjoy amazing live close-up imagery of the sun, no matter where you’re watching from!
Special Filters to protect your phone! We recommend “Solar Snap” which has filters and an app to help with your eclipse photography
