Holy cow! As summer approaches it’s time to learn about the history of the Castro Adobe State Historic Park!
Register for the Castro Adobe Open House: Alta COWlifornia event on Saturday, June 3 at 10:30am. and learn why cows were so important in Alta California and how cows allowed the Castros to build the dream home we call the Castro Adobe. Californios like Juan Jose Castro made their wealth in the cow hide and tallow trade, which produced goods like soap, candles and everything leather.
This family-friendly event will teach kids how to make a candle!
