FreeCâmbio Story Time & Community Art Project
Monday, February 17, 11am – 2pm
Join us for a fun and inspiring celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community connection!
Taylor Lahey hosts story time Câmbio
Local author Taylor Lahey visits the Museum of Discovery to share his heartwarming book Cambio, the tale of a child who grows up transforming his neighborhood by trading trash for bus tokens through a city program.
Free Books For Kids will join the storytime festivities with books that anyone can take home.
Community Mural from Recycled Clothes – Help us bring the beautiful mosaic illustration from Câmbio to life by creating our own community treasure from recycled materials!
Bring up to 5 pieces of clean used clothing and receive a FREE signed copy of Cambio. We’re especially looking for:
- Denim
- Bright-colored fabrics
- Bright-plain colors like white, light gray, off-white [??? this would be for the background, I think the extra texture rather than bare canvas would be great]
Important: All clothing items should be clean and ready to repurpose.
Together, we’ll transform forgotten fabrics into an amazing community mosaic, giving new life to old textiles and showing how creativity can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to meet a local author, transform everyday materials into art, and take home an inspiring story!
