Birding Basics Class

Wednesdays starting January  18
Interested in learning more about the birds of the Pajaro Valley? Nanci Adams offers a wonderful “Birding Basics” course through Watsonville Adult Education.
Participants learn field skills, practice identification techniques, and gain practical field experience. Online registration opens January 3rd. www.wascae.edu

This fun, fascinating class is an introduction to many of the amazing birds in our own area. Employing photos, bird sound recordings, and a combination of classroom and field sessions, you will learn the basics of birding in a supportive, stress-free environment. You will begin building your basic field skills, learning how to use your field guide, apps, and optics, and employing useful identification techniques. Weather permitting, much of the class will involve practical field practice. Please arrive for the first class with binoculars and a field guide, if you have them. This is an excellent opportunity to develop nature photography skills with the eventual goal of sales. Students can also train to be docents for the wetlands center.
