Basic Anatomy and Physiology of Female Bodies (Ages 12-17)

Thursday, October 5, 6:30 – 7:30pm

We invite you to join us for this comprehensive and inclusive workshop series led by Dr. Megan McNamara, instructor in the Sociology Department and an affiliate with the Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning and UCSC’s Institute for Social Transformation. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the sexual and reproductive body in a supportive and educational environment.

In Session 1, we will focus on the basic anatomy and physiology of the female body. While the male body is relatively straightforward, the female body is incredibly complex, and this session aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of its structures and functions. Led by Dr. Megan McNamara, a renowned expert in sociology and an affiliate with the Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning at UCSC, this session will present the material in a manner that is accessible and suitable for ages 12 to 17. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain valuable knowledge about their bodies.

Adults aged 18+ are invited to a program geared for them on October 12.

After that, the series continues for all ages on the first Thursday of November with The Amazing Menstrual Cycle

and in December with Contraceptives and Their Option.
