To honor and recognize local talent, the Friends of the Aptos Library are hosting a closing art reception event in the Betty Leonard Community Room.
Joel Michael Smith Art is currently on display at the Aptos Branch Library and the installation ends on 8/30/24.
Join us for refreshments, stories, and an opportunity to converse with the artist on their methods and inspirations.

Joel Michael Smith, holds a BFA in illustration from the Art Center College of Design. He is a working fine artist, pyrographer, illustrator, and teacher. He has exhibited work at multiple galleries and has been published by the NY times Sunday Magazine, the American Illustration Annual, and 826 Valencia. Joel currently teaches summer courses at Cabrillo College and teaches Art and Graphic Arts at Aptos High School. Joel lives in the redwoods and loves exploring and making wood burnings mixed with oil paints and acrylic paintings.
