“Anime Your Way” Drawing Workshops

Sunday, July 13,  12:30-1:45pm Aptos; 2pm Downtown SC

Santa Cruz Public Libraries invites artists of all abilities, ages 12-18 to join us for two free “Anime Your Way” drawing workshops with former “Simpsons” artist Carlos Nieto III on Sunday, July 13, at our Aptos Branch and Downtown Branch Libraries.

Nieto III will teach a comprehensive, step-by-step program in which participants create and modify an anime character from scratch. Anime is a type of art that originated in Japan and is often adapted from Japanese comics called “manga.”

These workshops are part of our Summer Reading Program “Color Our World” and invite young people to join us and explore their creativity. No prior experience is required. Space is limited to 30 participants to each workshop and registration is required.
