ACT Workshop: Four Types of Poetry: Tinkering with the Tarot Alongside Madeline Aliah
2nd Saturdays, April 12 through December 13, 2-4pm
Today’s N. County Advisory Council of Teens (ACT) will feature a poetry workshop with teen poet and 2024/25 Youth Poet Laureate Finalist, Madeline Aliah. For the first half hour, we will learn about ACT, have our regular meeting updates, and find out about volunteer opportunities in the library. The rest of the time will be dedicated to creating poetry!
No supplies or prior experience necessary.
About the workshop: this poetry workshop for teens lightly analyzes four broad types of poetry, and finding creative uses for them using Tarot readings for prompts and inspiration. Tarot cards will be supplied and are welcome, if you want to bring your own. No supplies or prior experience necessary. Meet in the Felton Library Teen Room.
Advisory Council of Teens (ACT) is the SCPL young adult advisory group. ACT is open to all young adults in Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley. The main focus of the ACT is young adult services, including programs, events, spaces, and policies
This is a good opportunity for students to fulfill community service credits, obtain job skills, develop leadership abilities, and acquire college extracurricular experience. Also, ACT is a great outlet to meet great friends and most importantly, have fun with other like minded individuals.
We meet every 2nd Saturday of the month!
