Calling all community partners who work with teens: Get certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid — for free!
The COE is pleased to provide three upcoming sessions of Youth Mental Health First Aid training at no cost to community partners whose programs serve youth ages 12-18.
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges impacting youth. The course introduces common mental health challenges, reviews adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in crisis and non-crisis situations.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
All trainings are held at the Santa Cruz COE and lunch will be provided. Kindly note that participation in the full-day training is required to be certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. There is no cost for this training and each participant will receive a YMHFA Manual.
