Calling all young artists and creative minds! The Santa Cruz Public Libraries (SCPL) is excited to announce an exclusive Teen Public Art Workshop with renowned artist Lea de Wit. This unique opportunity invites teens to participate in the creation of a captivating public art installation that will become an integral part of our Felton Branch Library Teen Room.

Renowned for her stunning public art installations at Felton Branch and Felton Nature Discovery Park, artist Lea de Wit is set to lead this innovative program, igniting the artistic sparks within our teen community. Together with our Advisory Council of Teens, participants will embark on a creative journey to produce artwork that not only beautifies our teen room but also reflects the imagination and talents of our young artists.

For teens seeking volunteer service hours, joining our Advisory Council of Teens for this project is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable credit while making a meaningful impact on our library’s environment. As an added bonus, participants can enjoy complimentary pizza, connect with new and old friends, and collectively create something truly spectacular. Creating public art for a library not only fosters creativity but also enhances resumes and college applications. No prior art experience is required
