New Home Celebration for Scotts Valley Farmers Market

Saturday, June 27, 8am-12pm, until Thanksgiving

Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market is moving to a new long-term home in the Graham Plaza in the upper parking lot at 219 Mount Hermon Road.

In the spring news of the Boys and Girls Club impending renovation put a fire under us to find a new spot. In May the Scotts Valley City Council enthusiastically voted in favor of the new site. Local businesses stepped forward to celebrate the possibility of the new location on Mount Hermon and SCCFM officially put the move date on the calendar.

Please join us on June 27th for OPENING DAY at our new home. Here we move toward the peak harvest. Bask in the goodness of a purple fleshed pluot, dry-farm tomatoes, Monterey Bay King salmon, fresh sourdough bread and the dahlia’s beautiful bloom, the basil’s beautiful scent. We invite you to mingle, shop and have a meal every Saturday 8am-noon at this special community market place we call the Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market.

The Market runs every Saturday until Thanksgiving, a curated collection of regional farms and food businesses set up to sell the freshest fruits and vegetables, eggs, artisanal baked goods, garden starts, charcuterie, apothecary and preserves. We will fill this nook with hard-to-find wholesomeness, nutritious food and a family-friendly atmosphere. Taste something novel—or just gaze at—weekly: romano beans, blueberries, heirloom tomatoes and garlic, sweet potato and so many stone fruit varieties.

Groundswell and Live Earth farms bring heat-loving crops like cayenne, jalapeño, and Jimmy Nardello peppers, as well as honey and winter squash. Stackhouse Brothers and Ken’s Top Notch meet our nectarine, pluot and peach desires and also bring grapes and unique citrus to their tables. New Natives sells 10 different kinds of microgreens to boost the flavor and nutrition of any dish and a variety of mushrooms too. Laurel Canyon has garden starts and, alongside Luna Dorada and Groundswell, offers a selection of flowers that is varied, slightly wild and swoon-worthy. Rotating vendors sell soap, beautiful and functional crafts, and one-of-a-kind items like traditional Italian cookies—shout out to Il Biscotto.

Eat a treat or savory pastry from Companion Bakeshop, Beckmann’s, or Adorable French Bakery. Enjoy Hidden Fortress’s full espresso bar. Empanadas La Linda sells traditional north-Argentinian empanadas hot off the griddle. El Salchichero is back with a ton of charcuterie, seasonal sausages and bacon. Freckles Pickles has been up and coming in all SCCFM markets and they surely have a place here – spicy, savory and sweet. Find knife sharpening, strawberry juggling, magic potion concocting, and quality time at the Scotts Valley Farmers’ Market.

We also continue to offer the Market Match Program, which helps CalFresh/EBT participants stretch their dollars. Fifteen dollars of EBT is matched with an additional $15 in tokens for fresh fruits and vegetables—for free
