Santa Cruz Math Festival
Sunday, May 17, 9:30am-12:pm
We have exciting news from the UC Santa Cruz Mathematics Department!
We’re hosting the Santa Cruz Math Festival, a FREE, fun-filled morning of mind-bending puzzles, strategic games, and creative mathematical challenges designed for all elementary schoolers through high schoolers and their families!
Seymour Marine Discovery Center, La Feliz Room, 100 McAllister Way, Santa Cruz
What makes this different from a regular math class? Everything.
This event is designed to be collaborative, not competitive. There are no grades, no rankings, no pressure — just the joy of exploring great mathematical ideas. Students move at their own pace, choose the activities that intrigue them, and work alongside fellow curious minds (and their families!).
Think of it as a playground for your brain: logic puzzles, hands-on games, strategic challenges, and the kind of problems that make you say “wait, just one more minute” even when it’s time to go.
This event is perfect for:
✓ Elementary, middle and high schoolers who enjoy puzzles and games
✓ Students who think they “don’t like math” (we hear this a lot — and we love proving it wrong!)
✓ Families who want to discover math in a whole new light
Best of all, admission is completely FREE and open to all. Bring your kids, bring your curiosity, and get ready to have fun with math.
