In Family Support, Holidays

Do you want to help a family in need or do you need help during the holidays? The Adopt-A-Family programs are local and personal. You can donate funds, food, credit cards, toys, clothes, time and even shop for a specific family. Some programs have the flexibility of enabling you to meet each other.

Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz – Adopt a Family

Adopt-a-Family, a program of the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County, has been a local tradition for more than 30 years — neighbors helping neighbors so every family can share in the warmth and wonder of the season. This year, local families need support more than ever.

Across our county, parents are working hard to stay housed, buy groceries, and keep the lights on. Many wonder how they’ll make the holidays happen for their kids. That’s why Adopt-a-Family is taking on its biggest year yet as the county’s largest holiday gift drive.

Help provide gifts and groceries for 2,000 children and their families this season. We’ve already received requests from more than 550 families—and hundreds more are waiting. Your support means hope, joy,  and relief for neighbors facing a difficult holiday.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, Watsonville  and  Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, Santa Cruz

Each year, The Salvation Army serves 23 million people in America, and this holiday season, we are seeking to love beyond all else those in your community who are struggling to make ends meet. The Angel Tree programs of Watsonville and Santa Cruz help families in need by providing new clothing and toys to children each year. Your generous gift from this registry will bring joy to a local child.”

Valley Churches United Ministry

In these challenging times, Valley Churches United continues to provide essential services to local residents in need. Our food pantry is open three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am to noon, and we welcome all local residents who are struggling with food insecurity. Our pantry is also open on the first and third Friday of every month for seniors (62 and older).  Food Pantry

Valley Churches United Missions would not exist without the generosity of our donors. We accept no government funding; it is entirely through the continuing, strong support from our community — individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations — that we are able to provide critical services to our low-income neighbors. Individual Donors We have many individual donors.  Donate
