Join us at 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐛𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 in the countryside of Watsonville for a special Open House honoring 𝐃𝐢́𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐬 (Day of the Dead).

Latino dance group, 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐚 with colorful costumes will bring the spirit of the day to life.

Local musicians Bob and Denise Gomez and soloist Chris Vinson will entertain you in the garden where local artists showcase their works inspired by this vibrant tradition.

Día de los Muertos is a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed on—a tradition rooted in Indigenous and Catholic practices that continues to thrive in Mexican culture.

At the Castro Adobe, this day holds a deep connection: the 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞́𝐬 was home to the Castro family during the Mexican Rancho era.

Like families across California then and now, the Castros would have observed Catholic holy days and community traditions that honored both the living and the dead.
