E-bike and Bike Safety Saturday, May 3, 1 – 4pm – We’re thrilled to partner with the Santa Cruz Police for a community event that puts safety first – and makes it fun!We’ll be co-hosting a free, family-friendly pop-up focused on e-bike and bike safety. Expect helmet fitting, obstacle courses, on-bike tips on how to ride responsibly, and prizes! Pedal in the Park is more than just a bike event—it’s a celebration of what makes Santa Cruz a vibrant, connected, and fresh-air-loving community. Bring your family, friends, and bike, and let’s ride together!
Walk and Roll to School Day May 8 – Morning negotiations just got easier during Walk and Roll to School Day on May 8. Tasty treats, stickers and prizes for students who participate! Happy kids, cleaner environment and healthier communities? Yes please! Walk and Roll to School Day returns this Spring in Santa Cruz County at participating schools.Bike to Wherever Day Thursday, May 15, 7 – 9am – Bike to Wherever day is back with Modo, powered by Ecology Action! Roll with your neighbors or coworkers to free breakfast and coffee at one of the 12 sites throughout the county including; New Leaf (Westside and Capitola), Bicycle Trip, Watsonville Staff of Life, UCSC, Watsonville Plaza, SV Cycle Sport, Cabrillo College, Picnic Basket, Abbott Square, REI and the Ugly Mug. FREE Bike Repair May 20, 11am – 2pm at Ecology Action – Have a persistent squeaky brake? Inconsistent shifting? Rusty chain? Flat tire? Have your bike checked by one of our mechanics for free! Book a time with us, and we’ll help your bike out with minor tune-ups and repairs to get you rolling into summer.
E-Bike Safety Workshop May 22, 12pm – Santa Cruz Civic or via zoom. E-bikes are here to stay, and with the right preparation, riding them can be safe and rewarding. The fact that they tend to be faster, offer powerful acceleration and be heavier than standard bikes means that they require some additional know-how to operate safely. That’s why we’re here – we’ll be your guides to everything you need to know to get the most out of your e-bike, whether it’s your own personal bike or a BCycle bike share. RSVP Now
Community Ride and Bike Repair May 24, 1 – 3pm – Callaghan Park in Watsonville. Participants can get their bike repaired for FREE and then join in on the community ride in Watsonville. Details
