Santa Cruz SPCA Preteen PAWS Program Tier 2 (Promoting Animal Welfare with Students)

Thursdays, 4-6pm, September 12-26

The PAWS Tier 2 Program at the Santa Cruz SPCA engages students in respecting and responding to the needs of our shelter animals through learning, play with the animals and dog training.

The children will help socialize the animals and adjust their interactions with them based on behavioral cues and body language. Students will learn from the Five freedoms of Animal Welfare, stories, role plays and discussion.

Their time engaged in hands-on work with the animals will includes dog walking. This rewarding and engaging program runs once a week after school for three weeks.
