DESCRIPTION:The Museum’s 120th Birthday Party!\nFriday\, August 1\,  5 – 8pm; Free entry to museum all day 11am – 8pm\n\nTo celebrate\, we’re throwing a huge whale of a birthday party for August’s First Friday! \nWe’re bringing together some of our friends from across the community for a night of games\, arts and crafts\, music\, and so much more. Learn about the impacts made by these partners throughout the County and our shared collaborative histories over the years. \nAs a special treat\, there will be a storytime with internationally acclaimed children’s book author\, Taylor Lahey. To spotlight the Museum’s commitment to environmental education for all ages\, Taylor will be reading his book about youth-driven environmental activism which shows anyone\, no matter the age\, can make a positive impact in the world! \nPLUS\, this wouldn’t be a party without a FREE dessert station from Freedom Bakery! We’ll have a sweets bar for the kiddos and an open bar for the adults. Using local and sustainability sourced resources\, participants will learn the basics of environmental sculpture and design with step-by-step instruction. Transform sea glass\, driftwood\, and botanicals into unique\, coastal-inspired art. \nIn this workshop\, you’ll create an 8×10 sea glass winter scene that adds a local touch of coastal charm to your home. Join us for a creative experience and leave with a finished framed piece that captures the magic of the shore in winter. Perfect for a holiday gift\, a personal home decoration\, or an activity to be shared with friends or family. \nNo prior art experience required. Participants will have a completed art piece to take home at the conclusion of the workshop. Open to ages 21+/all experience levels. Wine\, cheese\, and other light refreshments will be served.
