DESCRIPTION:54th Annual Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival\nSaturday & Sunday\,\n \nThe Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival’s Games Committee is pleased to announce that it is planning its 2024 Celtic Festival\, with a Monterey Bay Celtic event to be held in 2023. \nThe Annual Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival is reknowned for its outstanding music\, food\, athletics\, and performing arts of Scotland\, Ireland\, England\, and Wales to the Monterey Peninsula. The festival’s attendance doubled from the prior year\, creating a very successful event to remember. It featured numerous pipe bands and solo piping competitions\, drum major competitions\, an array of top Celtic musicians\, Highland dancers\, athletes\, clans\, living history\, sheepdog and duck herding\, a coveted VIP lounge\, Ceilidh and kitchen piping contest\, whisky seminars\, craft beer garden\, a range of delicious food and beverages\, and more. \nMore about the 2023 and 2024 events will be posted on the website\, www.montereycelticfestival.com and on the Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival’s Facebook and Instagram pages. \nJoin us for our 54th year of bringing the music\, food\, athletics\, and performing arts of Scotland\, Ireland\, England\, and Wales to the Monterey Peninsula. \nFor over 53 years\, the Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Association has supported our mission of bringing our community together to experience the rich and multi-faceted Celtic culture\, values\, and history. The Association is a group of community leaders strengthening the social fabric of our community through educational events\, philanthropic activities\, and the growth of the Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival. \nThis popular Celtic celebration for all ages brings music\, dance\, food\, and athletic events of Scotland and Ireland to Monterey County. Featuring fun activities for the whole family\, the Monterey Scottish Games and Celtic Festival offers a variety of live Celtic entertainment with exciting massed pipe bands. \nFeaturing talented Highland dancers\, internationally known Celtic entertainers\, athletes\, clans\, kids’ games\, whisky tasting\, delicious food\, beer garden\, great crafts\, sheepdog herding\, and much more. In addition to traditional pipes and drums\, dancing\, and Scottish heavy athletic competitions\, the festival is a celebration full of demonstrations\, performances\, and musical entertainment related to many aspects of Scottish and Gaelic culture. Dozens of kilted athletes\, bagpipers\, and dancers will be back in Monterey entertaining Festival-goers who will enjoy experiencing and learning more about the rich Celtic culture. \nThe festival also presents fascinating historical re-enactments portraying life in 16th century Scotland. Performers will entertain and educate attendees through the medium of living history.
