DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP!\n\n\n\nPostpartum Psychosis (PPP) is rare. It occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1\,000 deliveries.  After a PPP survivor’s symptoms have been stabilized\, peer support can be an important tool for recovery. Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor.  In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. DESCRIPTION:Music of the West African Kora with Sean Gaskell- Garfield Park\nTuesday\, March 11\, 6 – 7pm \nPlease join us at the Garfield Park Branch Library for a musical performance featuring Sean Gaskell and the West African Kora harp. The kora is a 21 stringed West African harp that is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots. Many of these songs preserve a history dating back 800 years to the founding of the Mande empire. \nSean Gaskell studied under the extensive instruction of Moriba Kuyateh and the late Malamini Jobarteh in Gambia\, and both Youssoupha Cissokho and Mamadou Cissokho in Senegal and has presented at libraries\, k-12 schools\, colleges\, universities and assisted living facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
