Students will fall in love with him at first sight. DESCRIPTION:How Clutter Clearing Heals\n\n\nSunday\, January 11\, 3-4pm \n\n\n\n\nHow Clutter Clearing Heals: A workshop for people who feel the burden of clutter weighing them down. \nHave you wanted to clear your clutter for months now but haven’t made any progress? \nYou’re not alone\, many people struggle with this. \nWhat I’ve found in my work is that when people have emotional support and practical guidance they can break through what feels impossible and they make progress decluttering. \nI understand that decluttering does not come easily to everyone. \nSometimes challenging life circumstances pile up and now you may find yourself in the overwhelming situation of having a disorganized and cluttered home that feels impossible to remedy. Once the clutter avalanche grows to a certain level it can be very difficult to climb out of it alone. \nClutter’s effect on our lives is not neutral. Clutter causes chronic stress and chronic stress causes and exacerbates chronic health problems. Clutter eats away at our time\, energy\, inner peace and potential for joy. It turns our home from an oasis into one of our primary sources of stress and overwhelm. \nDecluttering can be a healing and transformative process when approached with gentleness and compassion. \n  \nThis Workshop Might Be A Good Fit For You If You: \n*Have the desire to declutter but haven’t made progress because you feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin.​​ \n*Recently moved\, still haven’t fully unpacked and your stuff doesn’t fit in your space.​​​​ \n*Inherited someone else’s clutter and are drowning in an avalanche of things that never belonged to you. \n*Are ready to let your spouse’s things go but don’t know how to do it in a way that honors their memory. \n*Have ADHD and find you need gentle\, patient and compassionate instructions and emotional support to stay focussed to get tasks done. \n*Are healing from a chronic illness and want to do all you can to feel well again. \n*Want direction and emotional support as you downsize for the next phase of your life. \n*Are highly sensitive and crave having a sanctuary that helps you deeply relax and be yourself.​ \n*Care about the earth so much that you get paralyzed about where your unwanted things will end up. \nIn this workshop\, you’ll learn about: \n1. DESCRIPTION:Explore Año Nuevo with a Docent\nCancelled: Check website: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=27613\nDecember 15 – March 31\nThe park offers guided walks led by volunteer docent naturalist to see the northern elephant seals in their natural habitat inside the Año Nuevo Coast Natural Preserve. Año Nuevo docents go through extensive training and are highly knowledgeable in the natural and cultural history of the park. Elephant seal acivities and population counts can vary widely throughout the guided walk season. \nGeneral Information\nGuided walks begin December 15 and continue every day until March 31 with exceptions on December 25 (Christmas) and January 31-February 1 for an annual fundraising event\, Seal Adventure. \nDuring the guided walk season\, walks are offered daily for families\, individuals\, or groups. Children age 17 and under require one adult chaperone for each 10 children. Each walk has a capacity of 15 people\, including chaperones. \nThe trail to see the elephant seals includes a 3-4 mile hike and is considered moderate with varied terrain including sand dunes. \nGuided walks run 2.5 hours from start to finish and operate daily from early morning to mid-afternoon\, rain or shine. \n $7.00 + $3.99 reservation fee for public walks. Children age 4 and under are free. Online/phone reservations are highly recommended\, espeically weekends and holidays. Visit ReserveCalifornia or call 1-800-444-4445. \nWhat Should I Bring?\n\nElephant seal walks are conducted rain or shine. Winter weather can be very cold and windy\, even on sunny days. Rain is frequent and the trail may be muddy with small puddles.\nVisitors should bring hooded rain gear\, a warm jacket\, layered clothing\, and sturdy walking shoes. Bring water for drinking on the trail.\nCameras and photography are permitted. Although there are no restrictions on flashes\, photographers are restricted to stay with the guided walk group and cannot leave. Staying 25 feet from the elephant seals is firmly enforced.\nBinoculars are helpful for seeing seals further out on the beaches and on the island.\n\nWhat Not To Bring\n\nFor safety reasons\, umbrellas are not permitted on the walks.\nBaby strollers are also not permitted for safety reasons. Families may use them for the first .9 mile walk to the staging area but must then leave them there for the rest of the tour.\nNo food is allowed on the tour\, but you may picnic in designated areas before or after the guided walk.\nPets are not allowed in the park and cannot be left inside parked vehicles in the parking lot.\n\nSpecialty Seal Walks\nSpring\, Summer\, Fall Guided Walks – Elephant seal viewing is self-guided from April to November. No reservation or guided tour is needed. DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP!\n\n\n\nPostpartum Psychosis (PPP) is rare. It occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1\,000 deliveries.  After a PPP survivor’s symptoms have been stabilized\, peer support can be an important tool for recovery. Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor.  In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. Programs like Tales to Tails have been implemented nationally in both libraries and schools and have proven to be extremely effective in increasing the self-confidence and reading abilities of the participants. This program is for established readers struggling with reading aloud\, not reading tutoring. \nCall 831-427-7713 to make a 30-minute appointment at the Downtown branch.
