Students experience nature\, art\, and animals in a relaxed\, calming environment. \nFrom this\, Lisa (a Reading Specialist with 25+ years of experience) works with students to build and develop strong reading skills such as: phonemic awareness\, phonics\, fluency\, vocabulary development\, and reading comprehension. \nSince reading is a gateway to accessing information\, students will likely improve in all subject areas. \nIn addition\, their self esteem will begin to soar as they gain confidence with each reading session. \nLastly\, Ziggy’s adorable\, gentleness is just too cute for words. Students will fall in love with him at first sight. DESCRIPTION:The Farm & Garden Market is a small\, friendly\, open air market made up of local farmers and gardeners who grow within about a five mile radius of Corralitos. \nSeasonally we have the tastiest strawberries\, blueberries\, cherries\, lemons\, tomatoes\, herbs\, squash\, potatoes\, carrots\, peas\, beets\, and avocados\, as well as a variety of other fruits\, vegetables\, lettuces and salad greens. \nWe have bakers that offer wonderful treats\, along with a table full of beautiful potted flowers. \nYou may find expertly handmade natural soaps\, and homemade jams and preserves. \nThe market is open to all of our friends and neighbors who grow anything from a garden to a good back yard fruit tree. \nOpen every Sunday 11am to 3pm\, rain or shine\, at the Corralitos Cultural Center\, 127 Hames Road\nFor a booth we request a $5 donation to the CVREA\, the non-profit who maintains the Corralitos Cultural Center. \nFarm & Garden Market (including vendor inquiries)\nContact Wayne Miller:  wayne@catalyst2001.com  / (831) 724-1332

DESCRIPTION:“Anime Your Way” Drawing Workshops\nSunday\, July 13\,  12:30-1:45pm Aptos; 2pm Downtown SC \nSanta Cruz Public Libraries invites artists of all abilities\, ages 12-18 to join us for two free “Anime Your Way” drawing workshops with former “Simpsons” artist Carlos Nieto III on Sunday\, July 13\, at our Aptos Branch and Downtown Branch Libraries. \nNieto III will teach a comprehensive\, step-by-step program in which participants create and modify an anime character from scratch. Anime is a type of art that originated in Japan and is often adapted from Japanese comics called “manga.” \nThese workshops are part of our Summer Reading Program “Color Our World” and invite young people to join us and explore their creativity. No prior experience is required. DESCRIPTION:READ program with Ziggy the mini\nOne hour Sessions\, 1pm and 2pm\, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons\, beginning  November 30 and December 1\n \nREAD program (Reading Equine Art Duo) with Ziggy the mini was designed to strengthen reading skills in a fun\, creative way. Students experience nature\, art\, and animals in a relaxed\, calming environment. \nFrom this\, Lisa (a Reading Specialist with 25+ years of experience) works with students to build and develop strong reading skills such as: phonemic awareness\, phonics\, fluency\, vocabulary development\, and reading comprehension. \nSince reading is a gateway to accessing information\, students will likely improve in all subject areas. \nIn addition\, their self esteem will begin to soar as they gain confidence with each reading session. \nLastly\, Ziggy’s adorable\, gentleness is just too cute for words. Students will fall in love with him at first sight.
