Visitors are sent on a journey through mountains\, streams\, and even their own backyards\, where everyday decisions impact their chance of staying clean and reaching a healthy ocean. \nThis fully interactive maze experience engages visitors through play\, scientific inquiry\, art and action\, illuminating human impacts great and small while teaching how to contribute to healthy\, safe water in their community and beyond. The maze also will highlight water research happening at UC Santa Cruz and in the greater community\, and encourage people to support clean water initiatives. Features within the maze have been tailored to represent Santa Cruz County water issues. Exploring the maze is included with admission to the Seymour Center. \nThe Water’s Extreme Journey maze takes visitors on an exciting and important quest for clean water. Visitors experience the watershed as a water drop\, exploring firsthand the science behind the water cycle. DESCRIPTION:Scotts Valley Haunted House and Thriller Dancers\nSaturday & Sunday\, October 22-23 & Friday-Sunday\, October 28-30\n \nTours for Ages 10 and Up: Welcome to our scary outdoor Haunted House walking tour\, even if it’s raining… because Zombies are NOT afraid of wate. Are you?  Scotts Valley Haunted House is not recommended for children under 10 or those who might experience nightmares.  There have been no reported zombie attacks in the past nine months.  The ticketed tour itself is around 20 minutes\, but you will want to spend some time beforehand enjoying the festival and watching the Thriller dancers.  \n\n\n\nTours for families with young children (ages 2-9) available October 29-30: Family tours are scaled-down version intended for families with kids ages 2 to 9.  It is before dark\, and it replaces the scarier elements with trick-or-treating. \nTickets: \nTickets for regular tours are sold at the gate\, and the tours occur in the order in which the tickets were purchased.  Tickets for family tours are sold in advance and are time-specific. \nThere are special tours between 5pm and 7pm on October 29 and 30 that are intended for families with children ages 2 through 9. DESCRIPTION:Drive for Schools Fundraiser\nTo purchase tickets\, find your favorite school listed below and contact the ticket coordinator. Tickets are $5 each or 6 for $25. \nTickets are on sale through participating schools starting Wednesday\, September 7 through Sunday\, October 16. All purchased tickets must be returned to your school by its posted deadline. Purchased tickets will not be accepted at the Boardwalk from anyone other than each school’s designated fundraising coordinator. The drawing will be held at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk at 1pm on Sunday\, October 23. \nTickets will also be sold on the day of the drawing at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Proceeds from tickets sold on the day of the drawing will benefit the Santa Cruz County Office of Education Special Education Department. \nParticipating Schools  \n\n\n\n\nHere’s some selling best practices to help participating schools maximize their earnings. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Drive For Schools\nFounded in 2005 by Subaru of Santa Cruz and now sponsored by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Drive for Schools raised a record $744\,645 for local schools in 2021 and has raised almost $8 million total since 2005. \nAll elementary\, middle and high schools in Santa Cruz County are invited to participate. Best of all\, each participating school keeps every dollar they earn AND they decide how best to spend the money. \nThis year’s grand prize is $25\,000 cash. We will also give away five $1\,000 cash prizes and 100 additional prizes. \nThe grand prize and five $1\,000 cash prizes are provided by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
