SUMMARY:Tomáseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Tomáseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas\nSunday\, December 17\, 3 – 5pm \nNow in its 28th season\, Tomáseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas brings traditional Irish musicians and dancers to enthralled audiences across the country. At its center is native Irish storyteller\, Tomáseen Foley. A Celtic Christmas springs from the infinitely rich treasury of Ireland’s cultural heritage: a re-creation of a night before Christmas in the West of Ireland in the 1940s\, before the advent of motorcar\, the television\, and the telephone. \nIn this recreation of age-old tradition\, neighbors bring their fiddles\, tin whistles\, flutes\, bodhráns\, uilleann pipes; and\, perhaps most important of all\, their unshakeable sense of community\, for a night of traditional music\, song\, dance\, and of course storytelling. The show’s Music Director is Grammy Award-winning guitarist and Santa Cruz resident William Coulter\, an internationally recognized master of the steel-string guitar.

The International Academy of Dance\, home to the Santa Cruz City Ballet (SCCB) is buzzing with excitement\, preparing for our favorite time of year! \nThe SCCB full-length Nutcracker is alive with innovative choreography\, stunning dancers\, beautiful sets and brilliant costumes. With renowned music of Tchaikovsky’s original score set by the Moscow Symphony\, this production has become an annual tradition\, showcasing local dancers\, as well guest artists from the Bay Area and beyond. It truly takes a village and we are so thankful for our beautiful community of parents\, dancers and supporters. SCCB Artistic Director/Choreographer\, Shannon Chipman\, alumnae of the Juilliard School and Santa Cruz native\, began the Nutcracker tradition as the Snow Queen in the first production of the Nutcracker in Santa Cruz at Cabrillo’s theater in 1988 under the tutelage of Jean Dunphy and Vicki Bergland (co-Director of this production). Since 2009\, Miss Chipman has brought her vision to life with Co-Director/Choreographer\, Vicki Bergland. Chipman and Bergland combine their artistic efforts to once again bring the stunning Nutcracker Ballet at Cabrillo’s Crocker Theater to life. \nThis year marks 35 years of Nutcracker for Chipman & Bergland. Cast members who first graced the stage in our original Nutcracker in 2009 and beyond\, as a Gingersnaps and Lambs\, have grown up with the production and are now dancing featured roles en pointe. Some of the most adorable little ones take the stage for the first time. The youngest dancer is two this year\, and can be seen dancing alongside her dad in the Party Scene. Every year there is something new to see… new choreography\, new costumes\, special additions\, delightful guest artists and wonderful surprises! \nWe invite you to experience elegant\, entertaining Classical Ballet and the Joy of Dance only SCCB can bring! Experience the Magic for yourself and dance along in the most comfortable theater seats in town. From any vantage point in the Cabrillo Theater you will have a great view. SUMMARY:Postpartum Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP!\n\n\n\nPostpartum Psychosis (PPP) is rare. It occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1\,000 deliveries.  After a PPP survivor’s symptoms have been stabilized\, peer support can be an important tool for recovery. Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor.  In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. This group is intended for those who are in recovery (no longer experiencing psychosis).   Whether your PPP experience was relatively recent or years ago\, you are welcome to attend our free\, online peer-to-peer support group.\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister here: https://www.postpartum.net/…/psi-online-support-meetings/\nFull Meeting Schedule

Our largest and oldest market\, it is situated in the heart of Downtown Santa Cruz\, one block off of Pacific Avenue. Established in 1990\, many of the farms that sell here were and remain pillars of the organic and ecological farming movement. This is the place to eat with the seasons! The variety of fruits\, vegetables\, flowers\, pastured meats and other products is swoon worthy. \nThe Downtown Market also spotlights a large variety of up-and-coming\, unique cultural food businesses. This weekly spot may serve up the most diverse selection of ethnic foods in the county including momo\, naan and curry\, Japanese fermented misos\, Eritrean dishes\, crepes\, El Salvadorean pupusas\, traditional Italian cookies\, fish and chips and long-ferment fresh breads. Shopping at the Wednesday market is a wonderful way to support regional responsible farms and small local businesses. Fill your grocery bags! Then sit down for a delightful meal and rest your weary arms. \n
