DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP!\n\n\n\nPostpartum Psychosis (PPP) is rare. It occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1\,000 deliveries.  After a PPP survivor’s symptoms have been stabilized\, peer support can be an important tool for recovery. Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor.  In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. DESCRIPTION:Support for Parents of High Needs Babies\n4th Tuesdays of the month\, 9:30am pst \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you\, Postpartum Support International\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP: Support for Parents of High Needs Babies  will take place on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am PST!\n\n\n\nLed by trained peer facilitators\, this group is for parents of “high need” newborns to 12-month-old babies. All babies have needs and depend on their caregivers\, yet some babies have more needs than others. “High needs baby” is not a medical term or diagnosis\, but it is a term used to describe babies with some of these characteristics: constant crying (for several hours in a row)\, difficult to soothe\, and easily overstimulated. A highly sensitive or high needs baby might not sleep without being held\, might cry for three hours every evening\, or might get restless and frustrated when transitioning from one environment to another. We know that parents of “colicky” or high-needs babies can feel isolated\, exhausted\, and overwhelmed. You are not alone\, and we are here to help. DESCRIPTION:Capitola Plein Air Annual Art Festival\nMonday – Sunday\, October 21 – 27 \n\nJoin Capitola’s Plein Air\, annual arrt ffestival\, a juried art competition\, exhibition\, and sale. It is a FREE event\, with hands-on art-making for all visitors\, live music\, and forty local and regional artists selling their works and competing for the top prize. \nDozens of professional artists will paint en plein air in varied mediums\, outdoors\, throughout Capitola\, at locations including New Brighton Beach\, Depot Hill\, the Esplanade\, and the Jewel Box. \nThe Exhibition and Art Sale is on Sunday\, October 27th\, from 11am—4pm\, New Brighton Middle School. more than 100 framed paintings will be on display for the competition\, exhibition and sale. The public is invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award! \nThe best in show will be purchased for $1\,800\, and displayed as part of the City of Capitola’s public art collection. A $1000 second place prize and other ribbons will be awarded. \nThis event is FREE to the public. All are welcome! (But come prepared to purchase and collect a piece of Capitola Art and Culture if you are inspired!) \n\n\n\n2024 Event Schedule\n\nMonday\, October 21 – Artists arrive and check-in. Painting begins! Keep an eye out for easels set up throughout Capitola as artists begin to capture the beauty of our landscape. \nTues\, Oct 22- Sat\, Oct 25 – Artists will be painting throughout Capitola including New Brighton Beach\, Depot Hill\, the Esplanade\, and the Jewel Box. \nFriday\, Oct 25 – 10:00AM—2:00PM\, All artists are required to paint during this time. The public is invited to view those artists in action! We’ll have a booth set up in the Esplanade near Capitola Beach with a map that shows where all the artists plan to paint that day. Come say hello! \nExhibition – Sunday\, Oct 27\, 11am—4pm\, Exhibition & Art Sale at New Brighton Middle School – More than 100 framed paintings will be on display for the competition\, exhibition\, and sale. The public is invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award.
