SUMMARY:Parent Nest: A guided Play and Connection Series
DESCRIPTION:Parent Nest: A guided play and connection series\nFridays\, April 7 – 28\, 9:15 – 10am \nIf those early parenting days feel like a mix of wonder and worry\, you’re not alone. Between those middle-of-the-night feeds and milestone questions\, it’s natural to feel both overwhelmed and amazed—sometimes in the same moment. While you’re marveling at your little one’s daily discoveries\, you might also be wondering if you’re doing enough\, or wishing for a community that truly gets what this journey is like. That’s exactly why we created The Parent Nest: A guided play & connection series \nCreated specifically for infants and toddlers (from sitting age to 18 months)\, this four-week series takes place in the serene morning hours before the museum opens. In this distraction-free setting\, your little explorer can safely investigate their world while you connect with other parents who understand exactly what this stage of life is like. \nEach 45-minute session nurtures your child’s natural development through research-backed activities that: \n\nBuild Neural Pathways Through Movement: As babies roll\, crawl\, and reach\, they’re not just exercising—they’re forming crucial brain connections that support physical coordination and spatial awareness.\nDevelop Pre-Language Skills: Our musical activities introduce rhythm\, repetition\, and simple signs\, laying the groundwork for communication long before first words appear.\nEnhance Sensory Processing: From our “Farm-to-Field” exploration to “Messy Magic” play\, each tactile experience helps your little one understand their world through touch\, sight\, sound\, and movement.\nFoster Social-Emotional Growth: Through guided interactions\, babies learn early social cues while parents discover ways to support emotional development during daily routines.\n\nWeek by week\, we’ll explore: \n\n Rolling & Reaching – Watch your baby’s confidence grow as they master new movements through guided floor play and gentle challenges.\nMusical Conversations – Experience how rhythm and melody spark your baby’s earliest attempts at communication and social interaction.\nFarm-to-Field Discovery – Engage your little one’s senses with natural materials and textures that expand their understanding of the world.\nMessy Magic Exploration – Delight in watching your child’s creativity bloom through safe\, sensory-rich play experiences.\n\nWhile the children are engaged\, we will take time to observe\, connect\, and support one another—building meaningful friendships and a strong community of parents and caregivers. Our experienced facilitators provide a welcoming space for sharing experiences\, gaining insights\, and offering practical tips to support your child’s development at home. \nFree for members! Registration required \nFree Children Under 12 Months \n$35/Per Person- Non-members (We will email you a link to pay)

SUMMARY:Shadows Across Our Eyes
DESCRIPTION:Shadows Across Our Eyes\nFriday April 25 & Saturday 26\, 7pm; Sunday\, April  27\, 2pm \n“Thought-provoking . . . mysterious . . . fascinating . . . you couldn’t look away\, what happened on stage was too authentic-looking and authoritative” Jennifer Dunning\, New York Times \nShadows Across Our Eyes is bodies limited and constrained; aggressive and audacious; independent trajectories between movers that intertwine and entangle. Neon lines in tension cut the space\, iconic narrative stand offs back away and move into active self-bindings\, and outwardly focused mind states morph into inward unknowable personas. Shadows Across Our Eyes presents a series of narrative fragments unblended and open and deriving meaning from what we think we know refusing to consider what we shutter to create a story and a history. \nKranicke’s work Shadows Across Our Eyes\, performed with Zephyr member Molly Fe Strom\, is highly abstract\, yet open to myriad images and ideas. Neon lines in tension cut the space\, iconic stand-offs back away and move into active self-bindings\, outwardly focused mind states morph into inward unknowable personas. The dancers both acknowledge and lose track of each other through a variety of narrative fragments\, bodies squatting\, lunging\, suspended\, assessing\, confused\, and fragile. The work creates an atmosphere of tension as Kranicke and Strom move through the piece balancing their task of executing movement while encumbered and restrained\, hands bound and wearing heels. Shadows Across Our Eyes continues Kranicke’s interest in aesthetic investigations of the interaction between dance and architecture. Enhancing the choreography is lighting by Richard Norwood and costumes by Amanda Lee Franck. \nPRE SHOW PERFORMANCES\nERR SHIRLEY: Err is a recent University of California\, Santa Cruz graduate\, gaining their degree in Theatre Arts and Western Art Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. \nDEE KOHANNA DAVIS: Dee is a poet\, lyricist\, vocalist and voice and writing coach. She won the SuRaa award for short fiction for her story Green Dolphy and her poetry has been published in Porter Gulch Review and the Network. Her lyrics have been recorded by various artists\, among them Janis Siegal of Manhattan Transfer. \n Suggested Donation: $ 20.00 \n  \n

SUMMARY:Dungeons and Dragons for Adults 18+
DESCRIPTION:Dungeons and Dragons for Adults 18+\n2nd & 4th Saturdays\, 12-5pm\, beginning May 25\n\n\nFor adults 18+\, step into the realm of Dungeons & Dragons! Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran adventurer\, join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday for an epic afternoon of storytelling.\n\nBe a bard\, wizard\, or barbarian\, and tackle creative challenges with new friends. No experience needed\, just your creativity!\n\nLet the adventure begin!\n\nNo prior experience is necessary. This program is for adults 18+. \nWhat is Dungeons and Dragons?  \nD&D is one of many tabletop role-playing games\, in which players create and control fictional characters within a shared imaginary world. A Game Master guides the story and sets the scene\, while the players make decisions for their characters\, rolling dice to determine outcomes. TTRPGs encourage creativity\, teamwork\, and storytelling as players collaborate to overcome challenges and complete quests. \nModern D&D has veered away from the combat-heavy game it used to be. While it’s still possible to spend hours attacking monsters and finding loot\, many groups now tell stories of mystery\, intrigue\, horror\, or whimsy. \nWho are the game masters?  \nThis event is organized by Jeltje van Baren (yinnah@yahoo.com)\, who learned to play a few years ago and has been creating games for new players ever since. She will be assisted by a rotating group of diverse GMs from the local TTRPG community\, all of whom are used to patiently explaining the rules and keeping the game fun for everyone. \n\nhttps://lDungeons and Dragons for Adults 18+oom.ly/v5N-5J0

SUMMARY:READ program with Ziggy the mini
DESCRIPTION:READ program with Ziggy the mini\nOne hour Sessions\, 1pm and 2pm\, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons\, beginning  November 30 and December 1\n \nREAD program (Reading Equine Art Duo) with Ziggy the mini was designed to strengthen reading skills in a fun\, creative way. Students experience nature\, art\, and animals in a relaxed\, calming environment. \nFrom this\, Lisa (a Reading Specialist with 25+ years of experience) works with students to build and develop strong reading skills such as: phonemic awareness\, phonics\, fluency\, vocabulary development\, and reading comprehension. \nSince reading is a gateway to accessing information\, students will likely improve in all subject areas. \nIn addition\, their self esteem will begin to soar as they gain confidence with each reading session. \nLastly\, Ziggy’s adorable\, gentleness is just too cute for words. Students will fall in love with him at first sight. So\, come join the fun and learn is a holistic way with Ziggy and Lisa 🙂 \n\nWhere: READ program is currently hosted at a ranch in Watsonville.  Also we will be visiting libraries\, schools\, hospitals\, and nursing homes soon!  Ziggy Stardust is our dwarf miniature horse and he loves reading with all age levels.     \nLisa is also available to visit your horse(s) and READ with them!  This social/mental stimulation provides an overall sense of well-being.  They love it; see video How tab for evidence.  😉 \n\n\n\n\nWhen: For availability\, more information and directions\, text Lisa at (831) 227-9847
