Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of the Liberation Paddle Out at Cowell Beach on June 22nd. See you there! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSC Juneteenth celebrates Black Liberation and Freedom through embracing our shared Black culture. Join us for a day of Arts from the Diaspora\, delicious soul food\, craft booths\, kids activities\, a 2nd line parade and a basketball skills contest. \n\nJuneteenth marks the day the last group of enslaved African Americans learned that they were free on June 19\, 1866. Even though the Emancipation Proclamation was made effective 1863\, there was difficulty getting it implemented in places that were still under Confederate control.  When some 200 Union troops came to Galveston Bay\, Texas\, and announced that the 250\,000 enslaved blacks were liberated by executive decree. It was a jubilee. That day is known as Juneteenth and is African American Independence Day. \nJuneteenth is now a federal holiday.  You can learn more about America’s second Independence day here.

SUMMARY:Dungeons and Dragons for Adults 18+
DESCRIPTION:Dungeons and Dragons for Adults 18+\n2nd & 4th Saturdays\, 12-5pm\, beginning May 25\n\n\nFor adults 18+\, step into the realm of Dungeons & Dragons! Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran adventurer\, join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday for an epic afternoon of storytelling.\n\nBe a bard\, wizard\, or barbarian\, and tackle creative challenges with new friends. No experience needed\, just your creativity!\n\nLet the adventure begin!\n\nNo prior experience is necessary. This program is for adults 18+. \nWhat is Dungeons and Dragons?  \nD&D is one of many tabletop role-playing games\, in which players create and control fictional characters within a shared imaginary world. A Game Master guides the story and sets the scene\, while the players make decisions for their characters\, rolling dice to determine outcomes. TTRPGs encourage creativity\, teamwork\, and storytelling as players collaborate to overcome challenges and complete quests. \nModern D&D has veered away from the combat-heavy game it used to be. While it’s still possible to spend hours attacking monsters and finding loot\, many groups now tell stories of mystery\, intrigue\, horror\, or whimsy. \nWho are the game masters?  \nThis event is organized by Jeltje van Baren (yinnah@yahoo.com)\, who learned to play a few years ago and has been creating games for new players ever since. She will be assisted by a rotating group of diverse GMs from the local TTRPG community\, all of whom are used to patiently explaining the rules and keeping the game fun for everyone. \n\nhttps://lDungeons and Dragons for Adults 18+oom.ly/v5N-5J0

SUMMARY:Postpartum Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP!\n\n\n\nPostpartum Psychosis (PPP) is rare. It occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1\,000 deliveries.  After a PPP survivor’s symptoms have been stabilized\, peer support can be an important tool for recovery. Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor.  In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. This group is intended for those who are in recovery (no longer experiencing psychosis).   Whether your PPP experience was relatively recent or years ago\, you are welcome to attend our free\, online peer-to-peer support group.\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister here: https://www.postpartum.net/…/psi-online-support-meetings/\nFull Meeting Schedule

SUMMARY:Support for Parents of High Needs Babies
DESCRIPTION:Support for Parents of High Needs Babies\n4th Tuesdays of the month\, 9:30am pst \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you\, Postpartum Support International\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP: Support for Parents of High Needs Babies  will take place on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am PST!\n\n\n\nLed by trained peer facilitators\, this group is for parents of “high need” newborns to 12-month-old babies. All babies have needs and depend on their caregivers\, yet some babies have more needs than others. “High needs baby” is not a medical term or diagnosis\, but it is a term used to describe babies with some of these characteristics: constant crying (for several hours in a row)\, difficult to soothe\, and easily overstimulated. A highly sensitive or high needs baby might not sleep without being held\, might cry for three hours every evening\, or might get restless and frustrated when transitioning from one environment to another. We know that parents of “colicky” or high-needs babies can feel isolated\, exhausted\, and overwhelmed. You are not alone\, and we are here to help. Crying babies are welcome too!\n\n\n\nIf you are looking for a group for parenting a medically fragile baby or child\, please check out our group specifically for those parents.\n\n\n\nTo view all our online support groups\, visit http://bit.ly/FindSupportGroup
