Share experiences\, exchange tips\, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow learners. \nI host a Beginner’s Learning Table EVERY week\, instructing in Hong Kong Style. I will take you through the basics of the tiles and setup\, followed by a game with tiles face up as we put what we’ve learned into practice. You can stay at the Beginner’s table for as long as you need.  Alternatively\, we have an additional instructor in Chinese Mah Jongg with British rules if you find you prefer that style instead.   \nWe have tile sets to choose from or you may bring your own. \nAll are welcome to play\, however please be mindful and respectful that there are at least 40 known variants of this game.  If you would like to play American or Traditional Chinese\, or other variants\, you are welcome to do so\, but you may need to be patient and instruct folks on how to play your way. Sometimes modifications will be needed\, at the beginning of each game ask the table what rules to play by and be courteous and kind to one another.

This program is a 1 hour walk on a 0.6 mile\, flat and easy trail designed for all ages. \nWe will be covering the cultural history of this unique area including Indigenous groups\, loggers\, and preservationists. \nOf course\, we will also discuss natural history such as the amazing coast redwood and the CZU Lightning Complex Fire as well as the future of our park.

DESCRIPTION:Second Saturday on the Farm \n2nd Saturdays\, 11am – 3pm \n\n\n\nJoin us for 2nd Saturday on the Farm\, a family event that focuses on a particular area of agriculture. Visitors can participate in the regular activities of the Ag History Project plus others related to the day’s special focus. \nWe have created some unique interactive educational activities to help you have fun learning about past agricultural practices. What we like to call our “usual” activities include: \n\nWooden cow milking: we have life-size wooden cows with rubber teats that help you learn how to milk a cow.\nKid-driven tractor: we retrofitted a John Deere tractor so that anyone can learn to drive it. You sit in the seat and control the steering wheel while a trained volunteer stands on a platform to your right to controls the speed. We even have space for a parent or friend to stand to your left and enjoy the ride.\nTractor Simulator: we have a stationary tractor that you can drive down a crop row. The computer screen in front of you displays how well you are handling the tractor.\nPuppet Theater: each month we have a new show playing.\n\n\nThemes \nJuly 12th – Summertime Fun on the Farm\nAugust 9th – Round-Up at the Ranch\nSeptember 13th – Visit Yesterday’s Farm during the Santa Cruz Fair\nOctober 11th – Tractor-or-Treat\nNovember 8th – Harvest on the Farm\nDecember 13th – Holidays on the Farm \n
