Troxell and choreography by Whitney James-Heskett and is presented at the SLV Performing Arts Center.A  special “Community Night” performance is  on Thursday\, March 7 at 7pm.The production is rated G.Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” tells the story of a prince\, who is transformed into a hideous beast\, and a young woman named Belle\, whom he imprisons in his enchanted castle. To become a prince again\, the Beast must learn to love Belle and win her love in return before the last petal falls from an Enchanted Rose\, or he will remain a beast forever. This magical ‘tale as old as time’ is a reminder to everyone that true beauty comes from within.The animated version of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” was released on November 13\, 1991. The film was met with universal acclaim from both critics and audiences. In 1991\, it was nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science for Best Picture\, and won the Oscars that year for Best Original Score and Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”). The animated film also won the 1992 Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy\, Best Original Score and Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”). All levels of experience with poetry and writing are welcome to this free program! \nLight lunch will be provided by Erik’s Deli. \nOpen to anyone ages 11-18\, Register here \nAbout Poet Emilie Lygren\nEmilie Lygren is a poet and outdoor educator who writes at the intersections between scientific observation and poetic wonder. Emilie has developed dozens of publications and curricula focused on outdoor science education and social-emotional learning through her work with the award-winning BEETLES Project at the Lawrence Hall of Science. She’s also widely published as a poet\, and her poems appeared in Thimble Literary Magazine\, The English Leadership Quarterly\, and numerous anthologies. Emilie’s debut poetry collection\, What We Were Born For\, won the Blue Light Book award in 2021. In her writing and teaching\, Emilie centers awareness and curiosity as tools to bring people into deeper relationship with themselves\, their communities\, and the places they inhabit. Emilie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology-Biology from Brown University and an MFA in poetry from Maharishi International University. She lives in San Rafael\, California\, and spends much of her time wondering about oaks and teaching poetry in local classrooms.

This enchanted musical is directed by Daria E Troxell\, with vocal direction by Wyatt E. Troxell and choreography by Whitney James-Heskett and is presented at the SLV Performing Arts Center.A  special “Community Night” performance is  on Thursday\, March 7 at 7pm.The production is rated G.Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” tells the story of a prince\, who is transformed into a hideous beast\, and a young woman named Belle\, whom he imprisons in his enchanted castle. To become a prince again\, the Beast must learn to love Belle and win her love in return before the last petal falls from an Enchanted Rose\, or he will remain a beast forever. This magical ‘tale as old as time’ is a reminder to everyone that true beauty comes from within.The animated version of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” was released on November 13\, 1991. The film was met with universal acclaim from both critics and audiences. In 1991\, it was nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science for Best Picture\, and won the Oscars that year for Best Original Score and Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”). The animated film also won the 1992 Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy\, Best Original Score and Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”).
