I’m excited to be partnering with my friend and respected sex educator Amy Lang to bring our community a series of 3 classes especially for parents and caregivers of differently wired kids ages nine to twelve. \nAmy is on a mission to help every kid grow up to be a whole and healthy adult; she helps parents learn how how to talk to neurodivergent kids about sex  i.e. to have open and effective talks about sexuality\, love and relationships. \nShe knows how stressful getting navigating these conversations can be (especially as many of us had a not-so-great example of how to do it and are worried about doing it “right” — right age\, stage\, words\, timing). DESCRIPTION:Support for Parents of High Needs Babies\n4th Tuesdays of the month\, 9:30am pst \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you\, Postpartum Support International\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP: Support for Parents of High Needs Babies  will take place on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am PST!\n\n\n\nLed by trained peer facilitators\, this group is for parents of “high need” newborns to 12-month-old babies. All babies have needs and depend on their caregivers\, yet some babies have more needs than others. “High needs baby” is not a medical term or diagnosis\, but it is a term used to describe babies with some of these characteristics: constant crying (for several hours in a row)\, difficult to soothe\, and easily overstimulated. A highly sensitive or high needs baby might not sleep without being held\, might cry for three hours every evening\, or might get restless and frustrated when transitioning from one environment to another. We know that parents of “colicky” or high-needs babies can feel isolated\, exhausted\, and overwhelmed. You are not alone\, and we are here to help. DESCRIPTION:Postpartum Support International\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNEW SUPPORT GROUP!\n\n\n\nPostpartum Psychosis (PPP) is rare. It occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1\,000 deliveries.  After a PPP survivor’s symptoms have been stabilized\, peer support can be an important tool for recovery. Because PPP occurs less often than other perinatal mood disorders\, survivors can go their whole lives without meeting another PPP survivor.  In response\, PSI has created an online peer-to-peer support group for PPP survivors. DESCRIPTION:Marine Mammal Scientist in Training Program\nMonday\, July 24\, 9am – 4pm \nThe Marine Mammal Scientist-in-Training Program is an engaging\, immersive one-week educational course designed for high school students interested in pursuing a career in marine mammal biology and conservation. Through a combination of field and classroom-based experiences using cutting edge methods and technologies\, students have the opportunity to work directly with world-leading marine mammal researchers. We are fortunate to collaborate with these local experts who give their time and expertise to this program solely to train and inspire the next generation of scientists and conservationists to appreciate and safeguard our precious marine resources. \nEach student will have unique opportunities to work side-by-side with expert scientists to study seals\, sea lions\, whales\, and dolphins here in Monterey Bay. Each participant will help collect data to document animal distribution\, feeding and behavioral patterns\, underwater sound\, and gain hands-on experience using specialized marine research technology. \nWe offer full and partial scholarships to students in need as well.

If a customer swipes their CalFresh card for seven dollars\, they get seven dollars in Market Match tokens for free. Swipe $10\, you get $10. The goal of this project is to encourage CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) recipients to take advantage of fresh\, locally-grown fruits and vegetables. By offering an incentive that lowers the price of fresh produce\, we are helping shoppers stretch their food dollars while keeping their families healthy. SCCFM will be offering the Market Match program for the 2020 season. Locate the information booth and the market manager to redeem EBT coins and to participate in the Market Match Program.
