SUMMARY:Local Artist Exhibit Downtown Library
DESCRIPTION:Local Artist Exhibit Downtown Library\n June 26 – 30\, 10am – 6pm \n\nBeatutiful art exibition at the Downtown Library presented by our local veteran community members. Two artists are featured for our quarterly art display on the first floor of the library. Our first featured artist Steven was born in Napa\, CA. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1970 and served in Germany and Vietnam. He was a professional Firefighter for 31 years\, then started painting after retirement with watercolors. He now mixes his paintings between acrylics and watercolor. He lives in Marina\, CA with his wife Tina. \nOur second featured artist: Nana Montgomery is an artist who makes contemporary quilts. Combining fabric and paint to create her images\, Montgomery’s quilts are constructed in a traditional manner\, using cotton fabrics and filling. Paint and other embellishments are applied after the quilt is constructed to enhance the surface design. The process and tactility of combining paint with appliqued fabric add an important spontaneity to the work. \nhttp://www.bluesharkdesign.com/contact \nBoth exhibits will be on display until the end of June. Thank you Steve and Nana for sharing your art with the Santa Cruz community!
