Summer Reading Program

June 1 – July 31

The Summer Reading program at the Santa Cruz Public Libraries is for all ages, from birth to 100+. Read and complete activities to earn virtual badges, books, and raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. You can sign up online for a Beanstack account any time. Our Summer Reading Program sign ups begin June 1st. You may also pick up a paper log at any of our branches beginning June 1st.

Special Program Series:

This year the Santa Cruz Public Libraries (SCPL) and the Watsonville Public Library (WPL) are partnering together for Book to Actionand Summer Reading 2021 to provide a series of county-wide programs and events inspired by Jose Antonio Vargas’ National Bestseller, “Dear America, Notes of an Undocumented Citizen.”

How it works:

This year we will be using a program called Beanstack to keep track of Summer Reading Program participation. With Beanstack, you can log your reading minutes and activities online or with the Beanstack Tracker app on a smart phone or tablet. If you participated in our Summer Reading Program in the last two years, then you probably already have a Beanstack account. We will also be offering a paper reading log for those who would like to keep track of their reading offline. For a full set of Beanstack instructions, see the document “Program Instructions – English” on the Quick Links side bar menu.

If you need help creating a Beanstack account, remembering your Beanstack username, or if you would like staff to log your reading for you, call our TelInfo staff at 831-427-3313 or email SummerReading@santacruzpl.org.
