NAMI Support Group for Parents of Transition Age Youth (18-26)
1st Thursdays 6:30 – 8pm
Free, monthly support group for parents, caretakers, and loved ones of transition age youth (18-26) with mental health challenges. All parents or caregivers are encouraged to join – there does not need to be a formal diagnosis. Common themes of those who attend our support groups include caring for young adults who experience depression and anxiety, substance abuse, outbursts of anger, and other challenges like mania, hallucinations, or paranoia.
All groups are currently offered via Zoom – please register on our website, and you’ll receive the link to our recurring groups automatically!
NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for loved ones of those who have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.
By sharing your experiences in a safe setting, you can gain hope and develop supportive relationships. This group allows your voice to be heard and provides an opportunity for your personal needs to be met. It encourages empathy, productive discussion and a sense of community. You’ll benefit from other’s experiences, discover your inner strength and empower yourself by sharing your own experiences in a non-judgmental space.
NAMI’s support groups are unique because they follow a structured model, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and to get what they need.
