NAMI Basics Class for Parents of Teens

NAMI Santa Cruz County offers NAMI Basics, a free, 6-session education program for loved ones of teens (11-17) with mental health challenges. This series will be offered via Zoom. Class begins March 9th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and runs for 6 consecutive Tuesdays. Students must commit to all sessions to enroll.

Family members, friends, and caretakers who are supporting a child or teen who is diagnosed with, or experiencing warning signs of, a mental health condition are encouraged to join. Topics in the class include up-to-date information on various mental health conditions, helpful communication and problem solving skills, working with and finding providers, family impact, crisis management, and much more.
