The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County invites all children (18 and under) who enjoy arts & crafts, baking, and/or cooking to PUBLISH their items on our BIDDING OWL auction site for our annual craft & food fair. Sell your homemade goods to family, friends, and the Santa Cruz community ONLINE! This Craft Fair is truly unique in its support of children’s creativity and entrepreneurship. Your $10 “table fee” won’t be charged until and if you make any sales.
Submit your items as described below until Sunday, November 29th (you have all Thanksgiving vacation to work on it!). Sales will run from Monday November 30th – Sunday, December 6th. I will send you an email on Monday, December 7th telling you what you sold (if you want to track your sales sooner, you can see on the auction site if an item is still available). You’ll deliver your sold items to the Clubhouse the morning of Dec. 12th, and customers can pick up their items from 11-2. Sales will be processed through the Club, and I will send you a check for the amount you made, minus $10, after sales are final.
How to Register:
Because we won’t be collecting a table fee this year until you’ve actually made some money, registration is just a matter of letting me know that you want to participate, by responding to this email with your NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE, and a rough idea of what you’ll be selling. (email to respond to: rebbie@boysandgirlsclub.info)
How to Post Items for Sale:
Send me your items and I’ll put them up on the auction site. Go to https://www.biddingowl.com/BGCCraftFair to see an example of an item that’s been put up for “auction”. We’re not really meaning to use the auction feature, but Bidding Owl is free, and this is what they offer. For each item, I need:
– A picture
– A title (very short name of the item)
– A description (any amount of detail you want to provide)
– Price
– If the same item is available in duplicate (like “A Loaf Of Bread” or “A Bag of 10 Handmade Caramels” or “Vanilla Scented Bath Bomb”, let me know if you have a max quantity. For example, if you only made 10 beeswax candles, let me know that. If you are making bags of cookies and you’ll make as many as people buy, then let me know that.
How to Deliver Items:
I will let you know which of your items sold (or how many) and customer names on Monday, December 7th. That will give you a week to get your deliveries together. On Saturday, December 12th between 8am – 10am, you’ll bring your items to the Clubhouse with the customer’s name attached. You can put them in a bag, or we can lay them out on a table, as long as the customer’s name is easy to read and securely attached.
How to Get Paid:
I’ll mail you a check after all sales are final, likely going out Monday, December 14th.
How to Spread the Word:
· Share the https://www.biddingowl.com/BGCCraftFair link with your friends and family and on social media starting on Monday November30th.
