Free public webinar: Nuclear Power

Sunday, May 22, 2 – 3pm

science-is-weirdIs atomic energy natural?
How does a nuclear power plant work?
How’d you make a nuclear power plant?

Ever wondered how a nuclear power plant works? Of course you have — they’re bizarre!

Nuclear energy is more than 10% of the electricity that comes from the world’s wall sockets (20%, if you’re living in the United States). Some hope it can stop global warming; others fear it will end human history. But how does it work?

In this fast-paced, hour-long live lesson, Brandon will pose the riddle, and lead you to figure out the answer.

Questions

Will my camera be on?

No, we’ll be doing this in our “webinar” format — your camera will be off.

If I’ve taken “Nuclear Power is Weird”, will I already know this?

Yup! This is Lesson 1 from that course. (You can come, but please don’t guess.)

Can I invite friends?

Please do! And feel free to post this to social media — this is our way to give the world a taste for what our classes are like.

This summer, your kid can swim deep in chemistry, evolutionary biology, zoology, and physiology.
