Explore Bioluminescent Blooms
November 19, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeExplore Bioluminescent Blooms
Marine biologist Dr. Steve Haddock and seascape photographer Johnny Chien will lead the program. They will explore the “glowing waves” phenomenon, which is caused by algae blooms of sea plankton being churned up, usually in warmer waters.
Johnny, “Hey everyone, I will be doing a free webinar hosted by NOAA’s Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and O’Neill Sea Odyssey this Thursday with Dr. Steve Haddock, Senior Scientist at Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI).”
Johnny Chien will talk about photographing bioluminescent blooms and a little about seascape photography, and Dr. Haddock will talk about the science behind bioluminescent blooms. There will be a question and answer segment at the end of the webinar.
If you have any questions for me beforehand, let me know, and I can try to include them in my presentation. The program is free, and you will need to pre-register to get the link to the live presentation.
It will be this Thursday Nov. 19th from 6pm-7:30pm Pacific Time. Hope you can join us!
