September 1, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
FreeLearn All About Bees
Wednesday, September 1, 1-2pm
Learn all about bees and their important role in our ecosystem with Hilary Kearney of Girl Next Door Honey. Learn about how these amazing pollinators live, work, and help our planet! Grab & Go Kits containing bee-friendly flower seed packets and a honey stick are available at Felton Branch (supplies are limited).
Hilary Kearney is the author of two books on bees: Queenspotting and The Little Book of Bees. She founded Girl Next Door Honey in 2012 in her home town of San Diego, California after graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Fine Art. Breaking from tradition, she developed a beekeeping business that does not rely on honey sales or pollination services for economic success. Instead, Girl Next Door Honey focuses on bee-centric programs such as natural beekeeping classes, apiary management, classroom presentations, beehive tours, live bee removal and more!
A Grab & Go Kit seed kit will be available for the first 50 visitors to Felton Branch Library (supplies are limited and are on a first-come, first served basis), no registration for the Grab & Go kit is required, but registration is required for the virtual program.
